Rainbow Trust - Amsphere’s Charity of the Year
2009-11
After much deliberation we have chosen the ‘Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity’ as Amsphere's Charity of the Year. The Rainbow Trust provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness and their Support Workers join around 1,000 families in their own home and are there to provide practical support - http://www.rainbowtrust.org.uk/. The Rainbow Trust also offers employees the opportunity to get involved at their respite centers with gardening, DIY etc and staff can be Rainbow ambassadors at schools and local community events.
The Rainbow Trust's Family Support Workers join the family in their own home and are there to provide whatever practical support is needed. They may attend hospital appointments with parents, sit by the bedside of the sick child to give parents a break and take worried siblings out for the day.
Mission Statement and Vision
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. One day all terminally ill children and their families have access to a Rainbow carer. We at Amsphere are happy to support such a worthy charity.
